Description

The Trauma Informed Care microcredential introduces learners to four principles of trauma informed care: awareness, safety and trust, choice and empowerment, and strengths-based approach. Learning is accessed through short, targeted lessons and peer interactions that focus on practicing relevant competencies and supported by an experienced skills coach. This microcredential is designed to enhance learners skills when delivering human services and better prepare nurses and other medical professionals working in healthcare to understand trauma and support individuals in managing stress to improve their quality of life. You will develop trauma-informed relationships with patients/clients by working collaboratively to form meaningful connections through increased awareness, employing a strengths based approach, fostering opportunities for empowerment and maximizing a safe and trusting environment which is inclusive to all.
